JAKARTA (Antara): Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso said state oil and gas company PT Pertamina should guarantee the supply of LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) under the government's kerosene-to-gas conversion program.
LPG shortages in Jakarta had caused LPG consumption in the capital to decrease from 70 percent to 50 percent, the outgoing governor said after a coordinating meeting on the energy conversion program at City Hall Tuesday.
The ratio between LPG and kerosene consumption in Jakarta used to be 70 percent to 30 percent but lately it had changed to 50 percent to 50 percent, he said.
Meanwhile, the Jakarta city administration would step up cooperation with Pertamina to solve problems stemming from weak coordination in the implementation of the energy conservation program, he said.
"We will reorganize the energy conservation program as Pertamina has already distributed stoves and gas cylinders without involving us," Sutiyoso said. (***)
