JAKARTA : Activities in several cities in Sumatra affected by a string of earthquakes and aftershocks have yet to return normal, Metro TV reported Thursday.
In Padang, shops were still closed during daytime on Thursday as traders preferred to stay with their families, while some areas in Bengkulu saw power blackout on the same day.
The 7.9-magnitude quake that hit Bengkulu on Wednesday evening has claimed 10 lives, injured dozens and left hundreds of people homeless. A powerful earthquake followed on Thursday morning.
