BEIJING : Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Chairman Hidayat Nurwahid and a few membersare currently in China for a reciprocal visit.
"My visit to China is at the invitation of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) chairman, Jia Qinglin, who visited Indonesia last year," Hidayat said Wednesday.
The visit is aimed at enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation and exchanging ideas on democracy development in the respective countries, he said.
"My reciprocal visit in the context of bilateral ties is certainly important in the maintenance of the two countries' political ties," he said.
Hidayat praised China for having a law which allows the country to make an amendment to its constitution every year.
