JAKARTA : Information and Communication Ministers Muhammad Nuh has suggested that pay TV operator Astro not monopolize the broadcasting rights to English Premiere soccer league games in Indonesia.
"Soccer is part of life for Indonesians. Many Indonesians love English soccer, therefore its broadcasting rights should not be monopolized by a single party," he was quoted by Elshinta radio station on Wednesday.
He said his ministry would meet with Astro in the next two days to explore the possibility of sharing the rights with other TV stations.
Previously, English Premier League games were aired live here by a local station.
