JAKARTA : The National Police announced Tuesday they would deploy 60,000 officers as part of a security operation for next month's Idul Fitri holiday.
Comr. Gen. Iman Hariyatna of the National Police said the operation, called Operasi Ketupat, would involve at least eight regional police forces, including those in Java, Lampung, West Nusa Tenggara and Bali.
Iman said the police would coordinate with the Transportation Ministry, Health Ministry and Jasa Raharja insurance company to run the operation, Elshinta radio reported.
