JAKARTA (JP): South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun conveyed Saturday his gratitude to Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for Indonesia's role in negotiating the release of South Korean hostages in Afghanistan.
Elshinta radio reported that Roh made a telephone call to Yudhoyono at 3:00 p.m.
Nineteen South Korean hostages were freed earlier this week by the Taliban in Afghanistan after South Korean, Taliban and Indonesian diplomats talked about the possible release, ending a six-week drama. (***)
