BANDA ACEH (Antara): The government will soon replace the boards of directors of a number of state-owned enterprises in order to improve their performance, a minister said.
"Next week we will announce the new boards of directors of several state-owned companies. We did so for PT Kimia Farma yesterday," State Enterprises Minster Sofyan Djalil said here on Saturday.
He said he planned to replace directors of Bank BTN, PT INKA and Lembaga Kliring next week. Meanwhile, a process to replace directors at pension fund company PT Taspen, insurance companies Jasindo and Jiwasraya, was now still underway.
"The same process is also taking place at Perumnas," he said.
The minister said he had earlier wanted to finish the replacement of directors at 60 state-owned companies in a month's time but until now he had been able to do it at only 39 companies. Some directorships at 21 state-owned companies were still vacant or filled by caretakers.
"We are seeking directors who are dynamic, meaning the posts will be given to young men with good potentials," he said. (**)
