BANDA ACEH (Antara): The Indonesian and Japanese Red Crosses reaffirmed their commitment to building another 1,062 housing units for the tsunami victims in Banda Aceh.
"We will build 437 houses for people in the West Aceh district and 625 for those in Pumau Simeulue," spokeswoman for the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) Vina Agustina said on Sunday.
Some 288 out of the 625 houses are expected to be handed over on Sunday, she added.
Vina added these anti-quake houses would be built in 17 villages in the Salang and Central Simeulue sub districts.
She said the type-45 house will be equipped with electricity, adding that the program was started in September in 2005.
