JAKARTA (Antara): The Saudi government will soon settle the case of two Indonesian migrant workers who were fatally maltreated in Saudi Arabia, its ambassador said.
"We deeply regret what has happened to the Indonesian migrant workers, particularly the death of two of them, namely Susmiyati and Siti Tarwiyah. So, we will try to settle the matter to the best of our ability," Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia AbdulrahmanMohammed Amen A Alkhayyaf said after a meeting with Director of Indonesian Citizens and Legal Entities Protection at the Foreign Ministry Teguh Wardoyo on Wednesday.
But the Saudi government would need time to resolve the case although it was only a matter of procedure, he added.
"If a Saudi citizen dies in Indonesia, it will certainly also be difficult to return his/her body (to Saudi Arabia) as quickly as possible," he said.
Abdulrahman said the Saudi authorities still had to make medical and police reports about the death of the two Indonesian migrant workers. (***)
