KUPANG : Australia is exploring the possibility of developing a ferry service between Kupang and Rote into a pilot project for improved inter-island transportation in East NusaTenggara (NTT), a regional government official said Wednesday.
Head of the NTT Transportation Service Simon Uly said an Australian delegation was visiting the province to study the plan.
"According to plans, the Australian delegation will meet NTT Governor Piet Alexander Tallo on Thursday to discuss the possibility of developing the Kupang-Rote ferry service."
The ferry service between Kupang and Rote is currently under the management of the Inland Waterways Transportation Service.
